Greater Shepparton City Council has announced the new providers that will take over aged care services previously provided by the council.
The council announced in April it would relinquish its role by July due to Federal Government changes to the way aged care services were delivered.
It has now announced that the government has appointed Community Accessability to provide delivered meals from July 18, and Calvary Community Care to provide the home modifications, access and support at home, and social connection programs from July 1.
Community Accessability is a not-for-profit organisation with offices in Shepparton, Yarrawonga, Wangaratta, Wodonga, Ballarat, Bendigo and Melbourne.
Calvary Community Care is a not-for-profit Catholic health care organisation.
Council will continue to provide the services until those dates in July.
Council director community Louise Mitchell said aged care services would continue without interruption while the changes were taking place.
“Council is working closely with clients and stakeholders to help make sure the transition to new service arrangements proceeds smoothly,” she said.
“Council has dedicated staff in place to work with every client currently receiving our services, so that they have all the information and support they need in the coming months.”
The council said all clients receiving the services have been contacted regarding the upcoming changes.
