A man broke into a Shepparton house and fought with a resident on Wednesday, January 31.
Police were told a person broke into a property on Wilmot Rd and got into a physical altercation with a resident about 12.30pm.
A 34-year-old man was also assaulted when he tried to stop the pair.
He sustained minor injuries in the assault.
The resident and the man who broke in both fled from the scene.
Police believe the parties are known to each other.
