City of Greater Shepparton residents curious about the remaining schedule of council roadworks for 2023 have been reminded to check a handy online resource.
Greater Shepparton City Council’s major projects page has information on various planned upgrades and maintenance, including asphalt resurfacing works.
A map available at the landing page greatershepparton.com.au/council/major-projects/roads/asphalt-surfacing-works shows 130 streets and roads the council has the goal of completing works on, through until December 29 this year.
Works on Wanganui Rd, Shepparton this week were brought to the attention of The News after they had begun.
As one of only two access points to the Goulburn Valley Hwy for about 500 houses near the Shepparton Golf Club, residents raised concerns about the lack of notice given for potential delays.
“The works on Wanganui Rd were undertaken with minor traffic management, with some short delays and not road closure, to maintain access for the residents,” a council spokesperson said.
Roadwork crews vacated the area by the end of the scheduled day of completion — Wednesday, November 15 — but as of Friday, speed on the road remained reduced to 60km/h (from its usual 80km/h) and warnings about loose stones remained in place.
