Ronald McDonald House Charities Victoria and Tasmania is introducing a ‘spin challenge’ to mark the 13th anniversary of its Ride for Sick Kids fundraising event, which raises vital funds for critically ill and injured children and their families.

On Saturday, March 18, teams of up to 10 riders will cycle on stationary bikes for 10 hours to raise funds for 313 nights of accommodation at a Ronald McDonald House.

In addition, 31 riders will compete in a road race on March 17, riding 60km or 100km across Melbourne to provide 156 nights of accommodation.

“Ride for Sick Kids has been an integral part of our fundraising efforts over the last 13 years, and we are delighted to be introducing our inaugural Spin Challenge this year,” RMHC Victoria and Tasmania executive officer Peter Bishop said.

Since the inception of Ride for Sick Kids, participants have cycled more than 5432km, raising over $3 million to provide 20,340 nights of accommodation for families.

“We are calling on all Victorians and Tasmanians to support the fundraiser by taking part in the spin challenge or road race or by making a donation online,” Mr Bishop said.
