Rochester Motoring Club Show and Shine is a vehicle show where attendees will likely find a bit of everything.
Rochester Motoring Club president Merv Wild said motoring enthusiasts would see “cars, trucks, motorbikes, and possibly even a tractor or two”.
“We call ourselves the Rochester Motoring Club, and vehicles over 25 years old qualify for membership,” Mr Wild said.
“We have many and varied members and we don’t have any restrictions on the club.
“In many other clubs, you have to attend x number of meetings per year or x number of events per year, but we decided that we wouldn’t have that restriction.
“We have 150 members and 169 cars registered in the club itself.
“We ran the Show and Shine in 2019, hoping to attract 100 cars and a couple of hundred people.
“We wound up with 360 cars and 1000 people.”
Mr Wild has two cars in the club, including a ’37 Oldsmobile and an EJ Holden Premier.
“The EJ has only 61,000 miles on it, so it is in pretty nice condition,” he said.
“Although it has been completely rebuilt because she got drowned in the floods in 2011.
“I was just looking at the Rochester Motoring Club list, and we have everything from old Chevys on the list.
“We have an Ajax, which is an unusual one, a Bentley — we have a bit of everything in the club.”
Visitors can make a day of it, as there will be food vans and a market on site.
There is a $5 entry fee for all show vehicles, with a gold coin donation for entry to the general public.
Rochester Motoring Club Show and Shine is made possible with the support of Campaspe Shire Council, Shannons Insurance and the Community Bank Rochester.
Rochester Motoring Club Show and Shine will be at Rochester Racecourse Recreation Reserve, Diggora Rd, Rochester, on Saturday, October 19, from 9am to 3pm.
