The Australian Red Cross is holding a volunteer information session in Rochester for individuals who wish to join the Australian Red Cross Vic Emergency Services Team.

The information session will be held on Tuesday, June 4, between 6:30pm and 7:30pm and will provide attendees with important information about joining the Red Cross emergency department.

Emergency services volunteers help people prepare for and respond to emergencies and support people and communities during recovery.

Joining the emergency services team is an opportunity to use experience, skills, and knowledge to make a real difference in the lives of people in your community.

Bendigo Red Cross Emergency Services Volunteer Greg Ralton highlighted the benefits of joining the Red Cross and how it can enrich the lives of individuals and the communities they serve.

“I enjoy assisting my local community when the need arises, putting into practice the extensive training that the Red Cross provides,” he said.

“Helping others can give individuals a great sense of pride and well-being by assisting others in their time of need.

“I find it to be very rewarding, and it allows you to join a group of like-minded people in your community.

“There are always emergencies happening, and they seem to be becoming more frequent, so the Red Cross is here to assist communities both before, during and after the event.”
