The Rotary Club of Benalla is inviting interested youth to apply to join a life-changing program.

For 60 years, the club has been involved in the Rotary Youth Exchange, a program which gives young people the chance to live in a new country and experience its culture.

At its meeting last week, the club had a strong representation of foreign exchange students who are either being hosted by the Rotary Club of Benalla, or are going on short-term exchange in the near future and being sponsored by the club.

During the meeting, the international students gave short presentations about their home country, as well as their experiences here in Australia.

Rotary offers multiple exchange programs to youths including an 11-month program, or a 12-week or six-week program.

Those interested in joining Rotary Youth Exchange Australia can fill out an expression of interest form at ryea.org.au

Alternatively, a local member of the Rotary Club of Benalla can also be contacted. You can call president Paul Berry on 0408 576 238.

The suitable age range for the student exchange program is between 15 and 17, with those older or younger advised that there are other programs suited to them.
