The Lone Pine tree in Wahgunyah’s roundabout has great company with over 100 plants planted on Saturday, October 19.
“The roundabout is full of native plants to complement the Lone Pine,” Wahgunyah Progress Committee (WPA) member Emma Eyles told The Free Press.
“It will help create a beautiful entrance to our town’s main street and hedging will be done when the plants grow.”
Indigo Shire Council and WPA worked together on the project, with council providing some 100 plants and assisting with the planting.
Eleven volunteers and council arborist Andrew Fraser planted Native Rosemarys, Grevillia ‘bronze ramblers’, Correa Reflexas and Native Bush Mints.
