Nominations have opened for rural ambassador roles for the Seymour Agricultural and Pastoral Society.

The position is open to men and women aged between 20 and 30 years as of May 1 this year.

The society is also looking for junior ambassadors aged between 16 and 19 on the day of the Seymour Show, which is being held on Friday, September 30 and Saturday, October 1.

Candidates must reside in Victoria and may be involved in a rural or agriculturally based industry and/or be associated with a show society/field day, but not necessarily need to reside in a rural community.

The competitions aim to highlight the talent, creativity and ingenuity of young rural men and women.

They also aim to encourage and reward enthusiastic, skilful and industrious young people who are actively involved in their communities.

For more information, phone competition head steward Prue Smith on 0408 970 243.

Nomination forms are also available from Seymour Agricultural and Pastoral Society secretary Pam Beerens by emailing secretary@seymouragshow.org.au or phoning 0422 058 213.

Nominations should be received by Friday, September 23.
