The Rotary Club of Numurkah 43rd Annual Art and Craft Exhibition is promising to be the best yet.

The event, held at the Numurkah Town Hall, will run from Friday, March 10 from 7pm to 10pm and will go through the weekend, on Saturday, March 11 and Sunday, March 12 from 10am to 6pm, before finishing up on Monday, March 13 with a final viewing open between 10am to 4pm.

Organisers have promised attendees an outstanding exhibition with entries in the art, photographic and craft sections, coming in from all around Australia.

Opening night will feature a wine and cheese tasting, courtesy of Monichino Wines along with musical entertainment provided by pianist Geoff Austin and Squish Davis.

The annual event is used by the Rotary Club of Numurkah to raise funds for local charities, with 2022’s funds being used for the town’s aged-care bus project.

Regarded as one of the best art exhibitions in regional Victoria, 2023’s show will feature 20 awards with prize money totalling $10,000.

Renowned artist Ross Paterson will be one of the judges at the event and will be joined by Numurkah Secondary College textile teacher Claire Reid.

Attendees will also be able to get in on the judging with organisers inviting them to cast their vote for the art or craft work of their choice for the People’s Choice Award.

The award has proved particularly popular since its introduction, with $100 awarded to the winning artist.

Admission for the opening night will be $8, which includes supper. Entry tickets for the remaining days will be $5.

Admission price includes a copy of the catalogue of the works on display and light refreshments will be available throughout the weekend.
