Greater Shepparton City Council is inviting local families to venture to Shepparton’s Maude St precinct for some great holiday fun.

Free activities suitable for children of all ages and abilities are on in the precinct from 10am to noon each day until September 30.

Activities in the Park, RecLink and council’s waste education team have organised a range of entertainment, including gridball, giant games and volleyball.

AFL Goulburn Murray has also designed plenty of footy-themed fun leading up to AFL grand final day on Saturday, September 30.

Kids will be able to take part in designing their own football jumper during a colouring workshop, improve handball skills with AFL representatives and get their faces painted in footy team colours on grand final day.

Another attraction will be the return of ‘Live Music Saturdays’, with council providing free live music every Saturday during the holidays.

City of Greater Shepparton Mayor Shane Sali encouraged residents to visit the precinct during the two-week break and enjoy the entertainment.

“We invite the community to come to the CBD, enjoy the fun games with the kids, the live music and have a good time together,” he said.

“This is a great opportunity to activate the local economy and encourage residents to go out and have a wonderful day.”
