A man died on Greater Shepparton’s roads on Friday, April 26.
Ambulance Victoria confirmed that paramedics were called to a collision in Arcadia around 12.50pm.
Traffic was being diverted away from the Goulburn Valley Hwy in both directions on Friday afternoon.
Police said a single vehicle crashed into a tree on the Goulburn Valley Hwy, near Dawson Rd, about 12.50pm.
The sole occupant of the vehicle died at the scene.
Police said he was a 45-year-old Shepparton man.
“A ute was travelling northbound on the Goulburn Valley Hwy when it crossed over onto the wrong side of the road,” Shepparton Police Acting Senior Sergeant Peter Warden said.
“The ute went over a rope barrier that was already down from a previous accident and hit a tree.”
The Goulburn Valley Hwy was blocked from Union Rd to Euroa-Arcadia Rd southbound, and from Euroa-Arcadia Rd to Union Rd West in a northbound direction.
Traffic was being diverted down those respective roads.
Shepparton Search and Rescue were on scene, assisting with clearing tree branches from the road.
