Seymour ambo wins national award

Recognition: Lisa Quiney won Seymour's National Patient Transport HEART award.

Seymour’s Lisa Quiney has won a national award for her employer National Patient Transport (NPT).

Lisa first won the quarterly HEART award for the Goulburn region but then went on to become the overall national winner.

The HEART award recognises traits the letters of the award’s name represent: high standards of work, efficiency, accountability and teamwork.

Staff nominate their colleagues that embody these values and who have gone above and beyond in their work.

NPT chief executive Damian De Zilva said Lisa stood out in her efforts to not only save company assets during the October 2022 floods but also run operations from her home in the aftermath.

“She made sure we were covered here from a healthcare point of view ... it’s been quite remarkable,” he said.

Lisa said during last year’s floods water rose quickly at NPT’s Tallarook St location, with the team only just being able to get their ambulance out of the property.

“We ran the station from my house for four weeks, until we found somewhere else to go,” she said.

“There was absolutely nothing left, it’s taken absolutely forever.”

NPT only moved back into its headquarters five weeks ago.
