Seymour band Stone Age is set to rock the Northcote Social Club in the upcoming weeks.
The band plays psychedelic rock music, synth music, contemporary, punk rock and rock ’n’ roll.
The four-person line-up has only just formed and the hope is that it will be able to get some major local gigs in the future.
Its first gig, which will also be used to launch its debut album Dragon Time, will be held at the Northcote Social Club in Melbourne.
Band member and founder Marcus Stone said the inspiration for the band was its love for music and it hoped to spread this love into the future.
“Our desire is to entertain people and inspire people,” Stone said.
For Stone, who has autism spectrum disorder and Asperger’s syndrome, the band is also his way to help inspire people with similar disadvantages to follow their dreams.
“For people with disabilities, I hope to inspire them to get out there and live their dreams,” he said.
Stone plays the piano, keyboard, guitar and occasionally vocals as well.
He said his love for music started in secondary school when he was 13.
“I love playing and really enjoy it. It is a favourite pastime. It’s lovely playing the songs and recording them,” he said.
