Seymour man charged with possession of child abuse material

Arrested: A man is escorted from a McCormack Crescent house by police officers.

A Seymour man has been arrested and charged with possession of child abuse material.

Detectives from the Joint Anti Child Exploitation Team attended a McCormack Crescent, Seymour, address on Wednesday, May 10.

Four unmarked police vehicles lined the street as police executed a search warrant as part of an investigation into alleged online offences.

Two police officers escorted a man from the property at around 1pm.

The man, aged in his 50s, was dressed in a tracksuit with a jumper covering his head as he left in police custody.

He was taken to Seymour Police Station and released on bail late in the afternoon.

He will appear at Seymour Magistrates’ Court for a filing hearing on May 16.
