A breezy night and a bright sunny next day welcomed the Seymour Show on Friday night, October 4, and Saturday, October 5, at Kings Park.

Excited kids and parents filled Kings Park, along with food and merchandise stalls and amusement park rides.

Seymour local Teagan Waack said her family went to the Seymour Show every year, but this was the first time they had been to watch the fireworks.

“This year was the first time we rocked up on a Friday night and watched the fireworks,” she said

“It was amazing, such a great show.”

Amelia Evans said she thoroughly enjoyed the light show.

“The fireworks are beautiful,” she said.

“They are a bit loud, but they were really cool. I loved it.

“They’re the best fireworks I’ve seen.

“It was really fun, like I actually got to see it close up, instead of just like seeing and hearing it from my bedroom inside.”

Ms Waack said her family members were most excited about the rides, but recommended everyone attend the show next year.

“There’s lots to explore, and see how it goes,” she said.

“So far, so good, so I definitely recommend coming.”

Seymour Agricultural and Pastoral Society’s Pam Beerens said the number of attendees matched last year.

“The volunteers and organisers are very tired, but very, very happy,” she said.

“This year, we have the biggest number of competition entries of around 1700, up from last year’s 1535, and 65 stalls.

“We’re looking forward to next year, and planning has already started.

“The feedback from this year has been good, and we’re very happy about that.”
