We’ve all heard the phrase “roads, rates and rubbish” synonymous with council — but what if I said you could have a say on all of those?

Time is running out to provide your input into what Campaspe Shire should look like for the next five years.

The council is seeking community feedback to inform decision-making for the 2025-26 budget, which will shape wider consultation for the 2025-29 council plan.

The chance to provide input for council budget closes on Monday, March 10, and has already garnered more than 150 answered surveys since early February.

Mayor Daniel Mackrell said community consultation is important to knowing what community groups or individuals want to see certain services or projects “receive a boost”.

“We want to hear from community members about what is important to them,” he said.

“We want people to be able to see their ideas come to life for the benefit of our shire.”

Community members are asked to consider areas such as: assets and infrastructure such as roads; regulatory services such as animal management; waste and environment; active recreation like sporting and aquatic facilities; passive recreation such as shared paths or playgrounds; community services and programs; arts and culture; and tourism and economic development.

Residents of Campaspe can submit ideas through the Community Vision 2040 & Council Plan 2025-2029 survey on council’s website, by calling council on 1300 666 535 or picking up a physical copy at any council customer service centre.
