Charity organisation Share the Dignity is holding its annual ‘It’s in the Bag’ Christmas drive, designed to gift women with essential toiletries and sanitary products.

The charity, now in its seventh year, makes a real difference in the lives of women and girls experiencing homelessness, fleeing domestic violence or just doing it tough.

The organisation encourages people to fill handbags with personal care items and donate them to women in need.

There are three varieties of bags involved in the campaign — teens, adults and mums and bubs.

For those wishing to donate, Share the Dignity reminds locals that while the bags themselves can be pre-loved they must be of quality and be able to be zipped or buttoned up.

Once sorted by local Share the Dignity volunteers, the bags are dropped off to local charities who distribute them to registered clients.

Donations can be made to Bunnings Echuca from Friday, November 18 until Sunday, November 27 and will be distributed across Echuca, Moama, Kyabram and Rochester.

This year Priceline and Bunnings are the major sponsors of the drive.
