Face the music: Orchestra Victoria is taking its show, Little Puggle’s Song, to Tatura Library as part of the Shepparton Festival.

Shepparton Festival is putting art in motion, hitting the bitumen and making its way to neighbouring towns.

This month, various cultural events and experiences brimming with music and comedy will unfold across Dookie, Harston, Mooroopna, and Tatura – kicking off at The Gladstone Hotel in Dookie.

On Sunday, April 14, multi-talented instrumentalist Squish hosts a free afternoon of music and mayhem at Something for Some People.

Audiences will be treated to chilled-out guitar-backed original songs, rousing sea-shanties, and impromptu jam sessions.

No joke: From Melbourne International Comedy Festival to Harston Memorial Hall, laughter will follow no matter where Damian Callinan is.

Walking to the beat of a different performance drum is Damian Callinan.

Cut across to Thursday, April 18, and the comedian will be at the Harston Memorial Hall for an evening of stand-up and character acting.

Callinan, a three-time Melbourne International Comedy Festival Best Show nominee, will delve into rural Australian halls’ history and characters while injecting his unique brand of humour into his storytelling.

Don’t be fooled, there’s more.

Tucked away in the Mooroopna Bowls Club, The Big Sing culminates a mass choir performance never before seen in the Goulburn Valley.

On Sunday, April 21, the spectacle unites choirs and vocal ensembles from across the region, including Shepp Sings (Shepparton), Bella A’Capella (Echuca), Nathalia Community and District Choir (Nathalia) and Con Spirito (Deniliquin).

Whether event-goers have the voice of an angel or vocals that, on a chalkboard, nails would envy, all can join in singing in ‘song circles’.

Young children will be able to get their musical fix too.

On Thursday, April 18, Tatura Library hosts a sure-to-be-enchanting storytime for the littlest community members to enjoy.

Presented by Orchestra Victoria, Little Puggle’s Song weaves live music with interactive storytelling, allowing children to zealously express themselves.
