A Shepparton house was badly damaged in a fire on Monday, February 17.
Fire Rescue Victoria firefighters were called to the home on the corner of Kennedy Rd and Service St shortly after 1.10pm.
Firefighters arrived on scene six minutes later to find the fire raging in the brick house.
An FRV spokesperson said firefighters in breathing apparatus used two hose lines to attack the fire and extinguish it.
The fire took hold in the kitchen and living area, and the action of firefighters saved the other half of the house from fire damage, the spokesperson said.
Firefighters conducted a search of the premises and no occupants were found, the spokesperson said.
The scene was deemed under control at 1.25pm, with firefighters then spending more time mopping up and putting out spot fires.
Shepparton Crime Investigation Unit police were also on scene and said the fire was believed to be suspicious.
