More students with a disability and additional needs will have access to more support after a funding boost from the Victorian Government to help provide more services.

State Member for Northern Victoria Jaclyn Symes has announced that St George’s Rd Primary School and Mooroopna Primary School will share in more than $9 million to create facilities suitable for students of all abilities as part of round nine of the Victorian Government’s Inclusive Schools Fund.

“I’m thrilled that Mooroopna and St George’s Rd students are getting the full range of benefits of these upgrades,” Ms Symes said.

“We’re proud to continue investing in the Inclusive Schools Fund — giving schools the infrastructure they need so more students can fully participate and succeed in their years of schooling and beyond.”

Mooroopna Primary School is set to receive $299,914 through the fund, and St George’s Rd Primary School will receive $299,902.

Around 420 creative projects have been funded through the ISF, which has helped to build inclusive learning spaces and specially designed accessible playgrounds.

The government launched the ISF in 2015 to help schools support students whose additional needs require extra facilities, and a total of $80 million has been invested to deliver these works throughout Victoria.
