Shepparton’s Victoria Park Lake will be rocking on Sunday morning as the Socceroos take on Argentina.

Graham Arnold’s charges — which include Shepparton’s Garang Kuol — will look to continue their fairytale run at the 2022 FIFA World Cup in Qatar when they take on Lionel Messi’s Argentina in their Round of 16 clash.

Greater Shepparton City Council has been able to confirm today that a big screen will be set up at the public gathering space along the Sobraon St section of the Victoria Park Lake facility.

“This is a big moment in Australian sport as we have a direct connection with rising football star Garang Kuol, not only is he representing the country — but also the people of Greater Shepparton,” City of Greater Shepparton Mayor Shane Sali said.

“If you would like to get amongst the atmosphere — get down to Victoria Park Lake on Sunday morning!

“GO SOCCEROOS!”

The free event will allow Greater Shepparton to come together and get behind Kuol and the Socceroos as they chase history.

Bring your chair or rug to sit on from 5.30am on Sunday, December 4.

No alcohol is permitted on the grounds and please be aware of mosquitoes at this time of the year. Bring insect repellent to avoid being bitten.

The match starts at 6am AEDT.

No seating will be provided and coffee and food services will be confirmed at this link when possible.
