Shepparton woman dies on region’s roads

A Shepparton woman died in a fatal collision in Kyabram on Wednesday, November 22.

The 58-year-old was the driver and sole occupant of a sedan travelling along Edis St when it and a truck collided at the intersection of Albion St about 7.30am.

The truck and a Toyota LandCruiser four-wheel-drive, which was also travelling on Albion St, then collided.

The truck driver, a 51-year-old Kyabram man, and his female passenger were not injured.

The driver of the LandCruiser, a 53-year-old Kyabram man, was not injured either.

Police are investigating the circumstances behind the incident, with the cause yet to be determined.

The Shepparton woman is the 40th life lost on the region’s roads since New Year’s Eve.

The deaths have come from 31 different crashes in an area that is within a 50-minute drive of Shepparton’s central business district.
