Shepparton’s heating up

Things are heating up in Shepparton with spring well under way.

Days are getting warmer, with this month’s highest maximum temperature hitting 30.9℃ on Tuesday, October 22, with the coldest day this month, Tuesday, October 8, still reaching 17.9℃.

With an average of 24.1℃, the daytime temperatures were above last year’s average of 21℃.

Nights were still cold during October, but as we get closer to summer, that won’t last much longer.

The warmest night was on Friday, October 18, when the mercury fell to only 17.9℃, while Saturday, October 26, was the coldest, with an overnight minimum of 2.3℃.

Nights were warmer than last year, with October 2023 having an average night-time temperature of 7.4℃, with this year being 9.2℃.

It was a dry month, too, with it raining on only seven days.

The wettest day saw 15.6mm of rain fall on Friday, October 18, with the total rainfall for the month coming to 28.8mm, below the month’s average of 36.8mm.

Compared to last year, this October was much drier, with last year’s total rainfall for October reaching 75mm.
