New store Totally Gluten Free Products had its grand opening on Sunday, November 20.

The shop is owned by Palmira Rigoli, whose aim is “to help someone with food allergies”.

Ms Rigoli, who was diagnosed with coeliac disease in 2003, started her business from home in 2010 and moved to her current location in 2019.

She started by manufacturing products and writing cookbooks.

At that point, she only served cafés and restaurants, but now customers can walk in and purchase gluten-free food.

The products at TGFP range from gluten-free foods such as pizza bases to ready-to-eat foods such as pies and sausage rolls.

Local resident Gabby Sanders, who is gluten intolerant, said having a shop such as TGFP would make it easier for her to get food that she could eat, as it was “challenging to access gluten-free products”.

She said having a strictly gluten-free shop would reduce the number of times she became ill from accidentally consuming gluten.

The shop, which is located at 35 Swainston Rd, Shepparton East, will be open from noon to 6pm on Thursdays and Fridays.
