Christmas has come early at state Member for Shepparton Kim O’Keeffe’s office.

Her walls are covered floor to ceiling with the over 700 entries to her Christmas card competition.

“I was so delighted to receive so many entrants from our incredibly talented students, all of which have brought so much Christmas joy to my office,” she said.

Ms O’Keeffe said community members had loved stopping by to see the wall and all the wonderful entries.

There were two categories for students to enter — Prep to Year 3 and Year 4 to Year 6 — with four local students’ artworks featuring on the front and back covers, as well as 12 finalists featuring inside each of the cards.

“As you can imagine, it was a very tough task picking the winners, as every single entrant was so special and unique,” Ms O’Keeffe said.

The winner of the Prep to Year 3 category was Stella Simpkin from Mooroopna Primary School.

Their drawings will feature on the front of Ms O’Keefe’s Christmas cards.

The runners-up were Krishn Reebdeeya from St Brendan’s Primary School and Smith van Popering from Katandra West Primary School, whose artworks will feature on the back of the cards.

The finalists include Madison Kelly, Anoop Benipal, Jordyn Benton, Evie Black-Griffin, Nate McConnaughie and Maya Burbidge in the Prep to Year 3 category and Jaxon Bell, Amelia Holgate, Aleysha Hailey, Ella Commisso, Haillie Whittey and Roman Care in the Year 4 to 6 category.

“I thank all the wonderful entrants for sharing the joy of Christmas, and congratulations to all of the winners, runners-up and finalists on their achievement,” Ms O’Keeffe said.
