There will be plenty of bargains to shop at the Nagambie Transfer Station’s Tip Shop official opening and end-of-year celebration.

On the day, you can recycle your unwanted items, explore second-hand treasures and enjoy some Christmas fun.

Visitors are encouraged to dress the part in their second-hand best, shop for sustainable bargains under $20 and get a snag from the Nagambie Men’s Shed’s fundraising sausage sizzle.

Strathbogie Shire Mayor Claire Ewart-Kennedy encouraged the community to come along and shop sustainably.

“We can all do with a gentle reminder to clean out our cupboards and reuse what we can, which fosters community generosity and cohesiveness along with ensuring less household excess ends up in landfill or waste,” she said.

“The adage of one person’s trash is another’s treasure has never been truer as we all strive collectively for greater sustainability.”

Council staff will be on hand to answer any recycling questions and accept item donations.

Proceeds from the Nagambie Tip Shop will support the operation of the Nagambie Transfer Station.

The end-of-year celebration and opening will be held on Saturday, December 14 at the Nagambie Transfer Station, 854 McDonalds Rd, Nagambie.
