The Barber of Seville: Riverlinks welcomes its newest opera/rom-com to stage.

Forget Tinder, forget Hinge, Bumble. Gone.

Strap in for The Barber of Seville to find all the match-making skills you need, and a guaranteed belly-laugh along the way.

Riverlinks is introducing the musical masterpiece to theatre, with Opera Australia’s finest voices.

The show follows Figaro, the scheming barber who makes it his sole duty to bring together Count Almaviva and the stunning Rosina — who just happens to be betrothed.

What unfolds is a story of comedic chaos, only heightened by quick-witted characters and unforgettable tunes — an opera turned rom-com.

Riverlinks manager Ken Cameron said the show featured a live orchestra that delivered a score many would recognise.

“The music has appeared in movies, cartoons and commercials; don’t be surprised if much of it sounds familiar,” he said.

“The show is funny and light-hearted, it’s matchmaking the old-fashioned way — no dating apps in this performance!”

The show begins on Tuesday, August 30 at 7.30pm at Riverlinks Westside, Echuca Rd, Mooroopna.

Tickets are available in person, through the Riverlinks Box Office on 03 5832 9511 or online at www.riverlinksvenues.com.au/whats-on
