The News was made aware of a sinkhole on a south Shepparton residential road, so it went to take a closer look.

Sanctuary Dve from Wendouree Dve to Corangamite Dve was closed from Wednesday, November 27 due to a sinkhole.

An anonymous Facebook post on a Goulburn Valley-based page showed a visual of the damaged road.

Council said the hole was due to a drainage pipe separation.

When The News went to look at the situation on the morning of Thursday, November 28, repairs had begun.

Council officers and contractors are rectifying the situation and are hopeful that the road will be open by the weekend.
