Following last year’s success, the Colbinabbin Silo Art Picnic and Art Festival is back for another round with more wine, more food, and more entertaining live music.
The event is set to take place on Sunday, May 5, from 11am to 3pm and will once again take place in the backdrop of the stunning Colbinabbin silos.
The festival, which held its inaugural date last year, pays tribute to a distant predecessor: an annual picnic in the exact location in the late 1800s.
The festival features 11 local wineries, food and coffee trucks, live music, and kids’ activities, making the event friendly for all ages.
Silo Art Project committee member Sadie Vale said that if the event runs as smoothly as last year, the event has the potential to become an annual affair.
“There will be lots of community fun, with lots of socialising, and mixing around with people – that’s generally a theme with people from Colbinabbin,” Ms Vale said.
“People will get to taste the beautiful wines that are grown in our area, there will be yummy food, and there will be lots of activities for kids,” she said.
This year, music from the Rushworth and District Concert Band and special guests Wilbur Wilde & The Troublemakers will fill festival-goers ears.
Attendees are also encouraged to make a picnic out of the day by bringing food or drinks from home.
Wilbur Wilde is a musician, performer, and radio presenter best known for his work as a house band member on the popular TV show Hey Hey It’s Saturday.
He said that he and The Troublemaker’s band were excited to be contacted by the Colbinabbin Silo Art committee to be invited to make an appearance at the festival.
“We’ve got a great band; I always look forward to playing alongside my dear musical friends of many years,” Mr Wilde said.
“We’re looking forward to rocking Colby.”
Tickets for the event are $40 each and include a complimentary wine glass for the day, and there is free entry for people under 18 years old.
