In the Shepparton business community, a staple of comfort – both in its lasting presence and brassieres – is closing its doors after 60 years of trading.

The Bowl Corset Salon and its owner, Robyn Treloar, have a long and proud history in the region and a loyal customer base.

After running the shop for 28 years, Ms Treloar has decided to move on following a cancer scare she had last year.

“I thought, I’m going to get out there and enjoy life,” she said.

“My partner and I are planning to get a mobile campervan and take some time to travel... I’ve never had time off, so it’ll be good.”

Ms Treloar said she’s grateful to have had a terrific lot of customers, who expressed disappointment that the shop was closing.

Although it’s a sad farewell, customers can still enjoy clearance sales as the store attempts to sell all its merchandise before trading ceases, possibly at the end of March.
