A slip lane will be constructed for drivers turning left on to Benalla Rd from Florence St in Shepparton.
Council approved the $1 million project, with the contract awarded to Apex Earthworks.
A report prepared for council said the layout of the intersection was no longer capable of servicing the traffic flow required.
The project has been funded 50-50 between council and the Federal Government’s Heavy Vehicle Safety and Productivity Program.
