Photographers, it’s time to shoot your shot for a chance to be featured in the highly anticipated 2025 Nicholls calendar.

Federal Member for Nicholls Sam Birrell said the new calendar had a ‘local’ theme, encouraging shutterbugs to venture out, camera in tow, and shoot the goings-on in the region.

“The 2025 Nicholls calendar will feature photos taken by locals that include the people, products, places, characters, culture and charms that define our electorate,” he said.

Mr Birrell rattled off a list of suggestions — a local farm, street, community group, weather event, post box, puppy, cow, watering hole, tourist destination, building, home, sports club and so on.

Photographers don’t need to be the best in the business, either.

Mr Birrell has opened the competition to people of all ages and skill levels, and welcomes entries from mobile phones, too.

Submissions must be in landscape orientation, in colour or black and white, and light editing is allowed.

The top 12 photos judged by Mr Birrell will earn a spot in the calendar, with the standout entry gracing the cover and winning a $200 gift voucher to a Goulburn Valley photography store of their choice.

Whether an established, amateur or budding photographer, widespread recognition is guaranteed.

The winning entries will be featured in thousands of calendar copies distributed throughout the community in early December through local newspapers.

Photographers can submit their entries by email to sam.birrell.mp@aph.gov.au or drop them off at Mr Birrell’s office, 426 Wyndham St, Shepparton, by Monday, November 4.
