Storms swept through north-east Victoria on Wednesday night, but rainfall was very hit or miss.

According to the Bureau of Meteorology, the gauge at Benalla Airport recorded only 3mm for the 24 hours to 9am Thursday, September 12, but Wangaratta recorded 16.6mm.

Ensign reader Gary Oborne submitted this photo of the approaching storm, and said he recorded 19.5mm near Swanpool overnight Wednesday into Thursday.
