South’s superstars celebrated

South students performing at their Education Week assembly.

Deniliquin South School has acknowledged members of the school community at special Public Education Week activities this month.

As well as students being recognised for their efforts in learning, staff members were rewarded for their service to the school.

Education Week Awards were presented to Ash Morris and Hayley Free as part of the celebrations.

And two staff members were also singled out for each dedicating three decades of service to the school.

Once of the 30 year service awards was presented to teacher Jacqueline Kerry, and the other went to administration superstar Rose Keane.

Invited back to speak to the school during the special assembly - which also included amazing student performances - was former Deniliquin South School student Ellie Caruso.

Ellie was prime minister of the school when in Year 6.

Before the assembly, the family members of students were invited to the school for an open classrooms event.
