The Rochester market had special guests this weekend, with classic car drivers dotted throughout the town for the event.

Market organiser Milly Cain said it was an excellent weekend and a great way to make the market special.

Handie Studios: Everything in Ali Farrell's market stall is handmade.

“The town was buzzing and it was fantastic to see so many people and so many smiling faces. It probably hasn’t happened since before the flood. Seeing that real vibe and energetic buzz in the town was fantastic,” she said.

Ms Cain said it didn’t just help Rochester get extra visitors but also added another itinerary option for the people visiting as part of the Rich River Rod Run.

Big, red car: Mick Clay showed off his 1932 Roadster in Rochester on Saturday.

“We always get a good turnout from local supporters at the market, but obviously, having the additional people in town certainly impacted the store holders, and they really appreciate the extra business they had on the day,” she said.

“We specifically changed our market date to the Saturday to coincide with the Rich River Rod Run to support them and have something for the ... visitors to do. I think the partnership between the two worked really well.”
