Sports facilities get an upgrade

The Victorian Government has approved grants for new community sporting facilities in the region.

Pyalong Netball and Tennis Club got $500,000 to construct two fully compliant multi-lined netball/tennis courts with LED lighting at the Pyalong Recreation Reserve. The project will also include a new hardcourt warm-up and active recreation area.

Broadford Majors Baseball Club received $250,000 for a LED sports lighting system to meet baseball infield and outfield training standards.

Tallarook Pool was allocated $26,250 to install and replace a new outdoor pool slide.

Nagambie Recreation Reserve was granted $250,000 to install new switchable LED lighting at the netball courts and football oval bringing the lighting to competition standard.

State Member for Northern Victoria Jaclyn Symes acknowledged the councils and clubs for their commitment and financial contribution to these projects

“This is a great investment in community infrastructure and will go a long way to support the growing number of people in the area keen to get involved in local sport and recreation.”
