Spring fever hits the libraries this school holidays

It feels like just yesterday that the kids were heading back to school, but alas the school holidays are upon us once again.

Local libraries in Kyabram, Rushworth, Tongala and Stanhope have announced their spring school holiday timetables for activities to keep everyone busy.

From footy, just in time for the AFL Grand Final, to arts and crafts and story times, there’s something for everyone this school holidays.

Monday September 23

Kyabram library

10.30am — sand art (ages 5+). Brightly coloured sands are used to create a picture. Lots of different outlines to choose from.

Rushworth library

All day — Lego and games (all ages). Choose a game to play or build an amazing Lego structure. Free play.

Tongala library

1pm — footy friends (ages 5+). Decorate a football player to create your very own footy mascot.

Tuesday September 24

Kyabram library

10.30am — toddler rhyme time (ages 0-3); 3pm — floating Earth (ages 5+). Watch the world float by with this fun, gravity defying craft activity.

Rushworth library

10am — footy friends.

Tongala library

9am to noon, 1pm to 4pm — board games.

Wednesday, September 25

Kyabram library

3.30pm — footy friends.

Stanhope depot

Noon — foil art (ages 5+). Decorate a supplied mandala using brightly coloured foil.

Thursday, September 26

Kyabram library

All day — Lego and games.

Monday, September 30

Kyabram library

10.30am — matchbox bugs (ages 7+). Create a bug and design a matchbox home to carry it in.

Rushworth library

All day — Lego and games.

Tuesday, October 1

Kyabram library

2pm — leaf insects (ages 5+). Use the wonders of nature to create an insect using leaves.

Rushworth library

2pm — CJ Puppets (all ages). Catchy lyrics, audience interaction, and quick to learn dance moves are all combined to make this exploration of the world of music both an informative and very entertaining experience.

Wednesday, October 2

Kyabram library

2.30pm — Bunnings craft (ages 5+). Always a great session with thanks to the team from Bunnings Echuca. Making terracotta garden lights.

Thursday, October 3

Kyabram library

All day — Lego and games.

Rushworth library

10.30am — coaster set (ages 5+). Decorate a set of six coasters and assemble a holder for them.
