Man airlifted following collision

A St Albans man has been airlifted to Melbourne after two vehicles collided at a major intersection near Strathmerton last Friday, October 4.

The 50-year-old man was airlifted to The Royal Melbourne Hospital in a serious but stable condition after allegedly failing to give way while turning on to the Murray Valley Hwy from the Goulburn Valley Hwy around 5.30pm.

A 48-year-old Tocumwal woman driving the westbound vehicle, which collided with the turning vehicle, was taken to GV Health, Shepparton, for observation.

Police are awaiting blood test results to determine whether alcohol or drugs were involved.

GV Health has confirmed the 48-year-old Tocumwal woman was discharged on Saturday, October 5.
