Plenty to go around: Year 5 and 6 students joined the fun.

St Georges Rd Primary School’s Holi celebrations concluded with a vibrant display of love and harmony.

Students and teachers alike were covered in a rainbow of bright powders as they celebrated the festival of colours.

Heads, shoulders, knees and toes: Year 1 and 2 students were covered with the rainbow powder.

The morning began with an assembly and presentation about the cultural and social significance of the Hindu festival, which is celebrated in many parts of the world.

The assembly ended with a teacher and student dance.

Holi is a time for everyone — no matter who they are or where they come from — to come together and welcome the changing of the seasons.

The coloured powders are symbolic of love, affection and well wishes.

The transformative power of love: The shirts of students Yousif Al Ali, Andrew Tamang and River Edwards had changed colour by the end of the day.
Rainbow rain: St Georges Rd student Hannah Jones was showered in colourful powder, symbolising the love of her peers.
