Students from St Mary’s Primary School, Echuca participated in Caritas Ks, a Project Compassion awareness-raising event.

Around Lent, Year 3 and 4 students walk with buckets of water or backpacks and suitcases with clothes, toys and blankets.

The idea is to spread awareness about displacement and the need for clean water that sees people in poverty, particularly across Africa, Asia and the Pacific, walk long distances each day.

Year 3 and 4 students walked in solidarity with these people on Thursday, March 27, covering a distance of at least 6km with these items in hand.

All clothes, toys and blankets brought in for the cause were then donated to St Vincent de Paul.
