Shepparton Theatre Arts Group’s production of Fiddler on the Roof will feature two talented and vibrant ensemble youth casts, aptly named Sunrise and Sunset.

The timeless musical, directed by Shepparton performing arts teacher Casey Fogarty, promises to captivate audiences of all ages with its heartwarming story, captivating music and breathtaking performances.

Fiddler on the Roof premiered on Broadway in 1964, capturing the hearts of audiences worldwide with its powerful themes of tradition, family, love and resilience.

Set in the shtetl of Anatevka in early 20th-century Russia, the story revolves around Tevye, a humble milkman, and his struggles to maintain the traditions of his Jewish heritage in the face of changing times.

STAG’s rendition of this iconic production will feature seasoned performers such as Marc McIntyre as Tevye, and Nicky Pummeroy as Golde, as well as an ensemble youth cast.

Ms Fogarty said she admired and was excited by the ensemble youth cast.

“Working with these talented young performers has been an absolute joy,” she said.

“Their dedication and passion for theatre are evident in every rehearsal.

“They have poured their hearts and souls into their roles, and the adult cast have enjoyed the enthusiasm they bring.”

The Sunrise and Sunset casts will alternate each performance.
