There are only seven days leading up to the region’s first Illuminate festival and with ARIA Award winning headliners of Clare Bowditch and Christine Anu, it’s looking to be a big one.

The two-day festival is a celebration of the region’s creativity, innovation and perseverance and the new Shepparton Art Museum (SAM) precinct, to be lit up with mesmerising lighting installations.

All hosted in the heart of Shepparton at the Victoria Park Lake, the two days will feature a range of experiences bringing acts of Eliott, Drew Walker, Frim Fawkner and Adalita, along with a Welcome to Country from Wulumbarra and Minyerra.

Greater Shepparton City Council Mayor Councillor Kim O’Keeffe said the festival would deliver a creative program like no other.

“Illuminate is truly a first for the region and council is proud to deliver a never before seen event to celebrate the growth and development we have achieved to become a regional creative hub,” Cr O’Keeffe said.

“Highlights of the festival include headline music acts from Clare Bowditch and Christine Anu, more than 20 food vendors, an incredible adventure light path along the lake to explore, an exhilarating robot garden light and sound display, the CFA Torchlight Procession on Saturday and the dynamic laser, light and sound show to close the Festival on Saturday night.”

Illuminate is part of the Shepparton Festival, it will come to life on Friday, March 25 at 6pm and conclude on Saturday night with an immersive laser, light and sound show.
