Stolen $200,000 car found in Shepparton

A stolen $200,000 car was found in Kialla on Tuesday, October 31.

Shepparton Crime Investigation Unit Detective Senior Constable Nathan Berryman said the 2022 Mercedes-Benz was stolen from Torquay and driven to the Shepparton area.

Police allege several people got into the vehicle in the Shepparton and Mooroopna area.

Det Sen Constable Berryman alleged the people in the car then broke into several unlocked vehicles in the Kialla area.

The car was located by police in the Kialla Central area early Tuesday, stop sticks were used, and the occupants ran off.

Two people were arrested, but police believe more people were in the vehicle.

A 20-year-old Mooroopna woman and an 18-year-old Mooroopna man were charged with theft of a vehicle, theft from vehicles and burglary.

The woman was also charged with committing an indictable offence while on bail.

The man was bailed to appear in Shepparton Magistrates’ Court in March.

The woman was initially remanded in custody before being bailed to appear in Shepparton Magistrates’ Court on Thursday, November 2.
