Strathmerton and Katamatite stylishly concluded round five of Picola and District netball league action, defeating their rivals.

Playing away, Strathmerton's netballers were too good for Rennie, 40-25.

The game was a close one with only one goal separating the two sides at the end of the first quarter.

A consistent second quarter from both Rennie and Strathmerton again saw the sides only separated by a goal.

However, Strathmerton shone in the third, securing a 10-goal lead going into the fourth quarter before surging away to a 15-goal win.

Though victorious, Strathmerton acknowledged that Rennie were no pushover and victory was no easy feat.

Katamatite was also playing away and returned home with victory over Blighty, 70-40.

In a close match, Waaia edged out Tungamah 36-32.

Despite Yarroweyah's valiant effort, they were defeated 75-15 at the hands of Picola United.

Before the game, both teams held a minute's silence as a tribute to Cobram's Emma Bates.

Across the border, Tocumwal was defeated at home by Katandra, with a score of 50-32.
