Students go green for St Patrick’s day at Tongala

Pride of the Irish: Deklan Key adopted the braces look for the annual St Patrick’s Day celebration at St Patrick’s Primary School.

Green sandwiches were common place during lunch at St Patrick’s Primary School in Tongala last Friday.

The green bread was just one of the many tributes from the school to the annual St Patrick’s Day celebrations.

Students also participated in multi-age activities, including chalk drawings, making stress balls and parachute games.

This Friday (March 24) is Ride2School Day and St Patrick’s students will ride, scoot or walk to school. Bus students will be dropped off at the Tongala Sound Shell in Mangan St and walk to school.

Stars in his eyes: Zac Wakenshaw was one of the more dapper looking students at the parade, adopting an Elton John-like look for the parade.
