Mathoura Public School students have hit the ground running at their annual cross-country event.
On Thursday, May 9, students took to Gulpa Creek Walking Trail, with a race against the clock in the 2km and 3km events.
The races saw many students come out on top, with Year 12 student Katelyn Eddy taking out the fastest time for the 3km race with a time of 13:05, and Year 10 student Sophie Eddy taking out the fastest time for the 2km race with 8:18.
“Well done to each and every student who complete the course; you displayed great determination and excellent sportsmanship,” Mathoura Public School principal Janice Eddy said.
“Special congratulations to Maudie, Zaria, Mya, Jimmy, Max, Kohen, Charlie, Sophie, Khoa, Bindi, Kate, George, Bobbie and Jonathon who have all qualified to represent Mathoura PS at the Deniliquin District PSSA Cross Country Trials to be held in Deniliquin on Monday, May 27.”
