Students from Kyabram P-12 College are fine-tuning their pitch and putting the final touches on their catalogue of songs as they make their way down to Melbourne for this year’s State School Spectacular.

Joining them are nearly 1000 gifted students from across Victoria, each with an ear for music, ready to dazzle the audience at John Cain Arena on Saturday, September 14.

Sue Meeking, the dedicated choir director, has been guiding 20 enthusiastic Year 5 and 6 students from Kyabram over the past few months, preparing them for this spectacular event.

These dedicated young performers have spent months mastering an impressive repertoire of 15 diverse songs, each with its own unique choreography, showcasing their commitment and versatility.

“By joining in this high standard performance, our local children gain skills in music and dance, and they boost their personal confidence, resilience and creativity,” Mrs Meeking said.

Students Georgia Wills and Isabelle Humphrey are thrilled about the opportunity to perform alongside their best friends, creating unforgettable memories on the grand stage.

The students will stay at a school in Fitzroy for two nights, with extensive rehearsals with schools from across the state in the lead up to the big night.
