Mathoura Public School students and staff have said farewell to a popular personality.
Sue Wilson was a keen volunteer in many aspects of the school’s operations – volunteering at the breakfast club, helping to finance the complimentary rugby jumpers gifted to each child and generally providing assistance in many areas.
Sue, who also had a term as P&C president, knew every student by name and was a strong advocate for the school.
The popular personality, who is moving on to the next chapter of her life, is wished well by all.

Sponsors will receive their usual royalty treatment throughout the day and hopefully help cheer the teams on to another win.

There will be plenty of fun and games at Mathoura Public School today, aimed at preparing students for coming events.
Students in Years 4,5 and 6 will line up against their parents in a game of netball – which I’m sure will be loads of fun.
It will prepare the youngsters for coming contests between Deniliquin PSSA and Country as well as an EDNA Mixed Netball match.

Murray River Council will be meeting in Mathoura on Tuesday and before official proceedings at 1pm, time is being allocated for lunch and an informal catch up with the councillors and directors from noon.
Unfortunately the closing date for RSVPs had passed before the Pastoral Times went to print yesterday.
However it may be worth checking with lleyonhjelm@murrayriver.nsw.gov.au or 1300 087 004 as early as you can, and you may still manage to secure a seat for lunch.
