School’s out and Campaspe Library Service has a program of activities to keep kids entertained over the long summer break.

Alongside the school holiday program, Campaspe Library Service is also participating in the statewide program ‘Big Summer Read’.

Campaspe Shire Council Mayor Rob Amos said Big Summer Read was open from now until Monday, January 23.

“We want to encourage parents to engage their children in Big Summer Read,” Cr Amos said.

“All you need to do is collect a reading log and a Big Summer Read bag from one of our library branches.

“The kids read at least 10 books over the holidays, complete the reading log, and return it before January 23 to go into the draw to win some awesome prizes.”

Campaspe Library Service’s school holiday program features some fantastic activities, including the popular CJ Puppets live performances at the Echuca and Kyabram libraries.

The Rochester library branch will remain closed over the holidays.

“Unfortunately, we don’t have the capacity to open up the Rochester library,” Cr Amos said.

“But Campaspe Library Service is endeavouring to organise some pop up activities for our youngest Rochester residents.”

Bookings are required for all activities in the school holiday program. You can book by phoning 5481 2400 or visit: www.campaspe.vic.gov.au/library
